Young Arts

The Arts Society Guildford Young Arts Groups provide children and young adults with a broad range of opportunities to engage with the arts.

In Guildford we have a very active Young Arts Programme and have supported local art initiatives amounting to more than £4,000 in the past three years.

Art @ the Station

We are very excited to have installed a local schools' art exhibition in a brand new exhibition space- The Waiting Room on Platform 3&4 at Guildford station!

Guildford County school launched the scheme featuring the work of some of their Fine Art photography students. The exhibition will change every term and include work from a number of local schools.

Jigsaw School, Dunsfold

We have funded:a Beauty & the Beast multi sensory pantomime;  four Chinese Dance workshops to coincide with Chinese New Year and previously bought screen-printing equipment and materials  which the children used for an incredible self-portrait project inspired by the work of Andy Warhol.

Home Start, Guildford

Working with local charity Home Start, we funded a Father's Day project for their Family Group at Pirbright Barracks . Mothers and children decorated mugs and plaques with hand and foot-prints for their Dad's  and one Mum- all active servicepersonel.

RBA The Arts Society Young Arts Competition

We regularly enter the Arts Society and RBA Young artists competition with work from local A level students.

In 2014 we worked with two local schools and submitted the work of six A' level and Pre-U students to the annual NADFAS RBA Young Artist competition. We were delighted to have two works chosen for exhibition in London at the Mall Galleries. One of our entrants went on to win the prestigious Art Club Charitable Trust Award for most promising Young Artist.-see image on left for Daisy's prize-winning work- Family DNA.
